As we live through a tumultuous time in history, it is normal to feel lost, confused, scared, and alone. This is especially true for people and communities living with politically constructed minoritized identities. Often governments, politicians, and propaganda work to pit communities against each other as communities fight for justice and equity.
It’s actually very eye opening to learn about the hidden diversity so many live with but mask because they don’t want to be judged. These hidden traits impact our real identity. There is so much power in our collective efforts and those striving to maintain power and/or control, know it!
This is why working across differences and centering intersectional experiences is essential. It does require discovering our own learning edges, listening to others experiencing suppression, and working collectively, strategically, and with humility.
